Advice.

Tue Dec 30, 2008, 6:36 PM
You don't know who is viewing what you post whether it be on DeviantArt or any other website.
No "Do not steal" or "ask for my permission" words in your comments are going to keep people from right-clicking, saving, and using your work for personal use.
And, as you may know, the internet is unlimited. It is impossible to access every video, webpage, or anything posted on the internet. How will you ever know that your work is not being used excessively for personal use without your permission?
You can't.
That is why I strongly advise you to not have blind trust in people who are surfing the internet. add hard-to-get-rid of watermarks. make photos smaller than the size of the original versions you posses. Perhaps try signing your work within it rather than on the bottom corner.
These are just suggestions.
Though full protection of your work is never guaranteed you must do your part.
Unless you are a VERY well known artist with recognizable work, i strongly suggest you consider how easy it is for people to claim your work as their own or use it for personal purposes.
